Kathak Darshan School of Dance

In order to provide you best possible learning experience, I request everyone to adhere few class policies.

  • Attendance Policy
  • Students are to arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to class time. Students may not be left unattended by prior to entry into their class.
  • Parents must come in to pick up their child at the scheduled dismissal time. If another adult is to pick up your child, please send a note before class.
  • Like any other performing arts, continuity is very important for progressive Kathak learning. So, please avoid absenteeism as much as you can.
  • There will be no make up classes for student absences.
  • Dress Code
  • Dress code – East Indian ~ Comfortable Stretch Clothing. Please try your best to follow the dress code.
  • No jewelry, except small earrings, may be worn to class.
  • I encourage everyone to keep their hair pulled back and away from their face.
  • Class Room Policy
  • Kathak is learnt & performed bare footed.
  • All students will need to bring a binder, note-book, pencil and eraser for class materials.
  • Please do not bring any food inside the class. Absolutely no gum is allowed in class. You may carry your own water.
  • Cell phones must be placed on silent during classes.
  • All communications regarding classes and performances will be via email. Please check your registered emails for updates frequently.
  • Video/audio recording and photography during classes are not permitted.
  • For focused teaching and learning atmosphere, non-dancers including parents, siblings, and friends are not allowed inside classroom during class time. You can watch your kids learning progress during “Observation Day”.

  • Tuition Policy
  • If there is any cancellation of class from my side and in such cases I will try to offer a make up class OR a credit for the class will be applied to the next month tuition.
  • Monthly tuition is due on the first day of every month. Monthly tuition is non-refundable.
  • Monthly auto-pay setup is recommended. Check, PayPal and Zelle options are available as well
  • If you are a new student, starting in the middle of the month, tuition will be prorated.
